Ever since I first became aware of the occupations of others, at the age of 5 or so? I wanted to earn my living as an artist. 

The first painting that inspired me was Raphael's St Michael casting Satan into hell. It seemed as though I was there...that the moment became real in my appreciation.

I couldn't explain this at that time I was after all only 6 years old. Now I know what inspires me.

In life, as in art, the magic surrounds us. Everything is magical. Selecting a magical moment...like an atmosphere or a mood can conjure particular associations that fill us with emotions.

Reaching other people with these inspired moments in paint or a drawing is a wonderful and satisfying reward. It validates my work further than I had even considered. I like it when people like my creations...but for me the most engrossing captivating aspect of being an artist...is making the art.
